The Living And The Surviving (Concluding Part)
The living man moved on and saw a fertile land some miles away to the hut, he was very happy and finally planted the mango seed. He stayed there and managed the little food he packed from the hut to sustain for a while and strive for food wherever he is hungry and there are days he wouldn’t eat at all.
After some years, the surviving man finished all the food in the hut and decided to move on to survive. While he walked for some miles, he saw a mango plantation and a beautiful house closed to it. The mango is ripe enough for harvest; the surviving man was excited thinking he would survive with the mango for years.
Just like the food in the hut, he wanted to pluck the mango to go and sell at the market and get little money to survive. As he was about to pluck the mango, the living man rushed out from the beautiful house and said to him “the mango is not for free, he is the owner and if he wants to pluck, he will have to pay.
The surviving man was surprised; he said he thought the mango is there just as the food in the hut. The living man smiles, he said no! He said he planted it and this will be his third harvest. He said he built his beautiful house from the profit from the first and second harvest.
The surviving man looks confused; he asked how he did that within few years. Then the living man told him that he saw a mango seed on his way on the day they met in the hut. And the seed was the important thing he was referring to because he had been looking for means of living.
The surviving man looked dumb, he couldn’t tell the living man that he saw the seed on his way too but ignored it since all he was looking for is a way to survive. He had no choice, he begged the living man for mangoes which he gave him few and he moved on with his surviving journey.
